Lisa earned a BA in Journalism from the University of Houston, followed by an MS in Communications and Public Relations from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Lisa began her fundraising career in 1999 in events philanthropy at the Southwest Louisiana Convention and Visitors Bureau and then at the American Heart Association. Since that time, she has served in leadership roles in development and gift planning at the University of Houston, St. Agnes Academy, Tulane University, the Catholic Community Foundation of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, and the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She has also served as an adjunct instructor at McNeese State University, Rice University, and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Since 2020, she has offered her knowledge and experience to help others as Founder and Chief Fablanthropist at Fablanthropy, an organization that empowers fundraising professionals to maximize philanthropic impact in their own organization. She currently serves on the global board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is an active member of Holy Name of Jesus Parish.
