Bio
Sherri P. Hayes is the Simulation Lab Coordinator for the School of Nursing and Health. She obtained her Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from Charity School of Nursing/ Delgado Community College, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from University of Phoenix, and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of South Alabama with an emphasis in Pediatric Nursing Education. She has been a registered nurse for over 30 years and began her nursing career as a Pediatric Critical Care Nurse. She also has experience in Pediatric Emergency Nursing and nursing management. She is certified as a Simulation Healthcare Educator (CSHE) and as an Acute and Critical Care Pediatric Nurse (CCRN-K). She is an instructor and training center faculty for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). She was recognized as one of the Louisiana Great 100 Nurses in 2007 and received the Daisy Faculty Award in 2018. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and is the past secretary for the Epsilon Nu at Large Chapter. She comes to Loyola University with over 15 years of nursing education experience including two years of academic teaching as a clinical instructor for Charity School of Nursing and over 10 years of simulation experience.
