2021 Design Thinking Sessions
Day 1
Design Thinking听Introduction | Daniela Marx听
Design thinking is a non-linear thinking process that includes critical thinking that seeks to empathize, challenge assumptions, and redefine problems to create innovative solutions.
The first day was spent thinking about how water affect us. The brainstorming session introduced many different perspectives on how water affects the lives of everyone, but we focused specifically on New Orleans residents.
Day 2
Design Thinking Discussion | Dean Kern Maass + Daniela Marx
On this day we broke down the question "What is Living with Water?' This was done through word breaking processes, so that the teams could develop a greater understanding of the research question.
The history of the issue was reviewed in order in order to understand past obstacles. Current solutions were also analyzed in seek of possible modifications.
Day 3
Design Thinking Discussion | Dean Kern Maass + Daniela Marx
We introduced solutions through identifying the needs and motivations of our target group. Teams generated as many ideas as they possibly听could, so that there could be an evaluation of each solution. This allowed for the combination and expansion of different ideas.
Day 4
Design Thinking Discussion | Dean Kern Maass + Daniela Marx
Teams spent time reviewing the objectives听of their question to help narrow down on possible solutions. During this stage it is important to voice any idea regardless oh how silly it may seem. The teams then selects the most powerful solution impacting the largest group.
Day 5
Design Thinking | Group Presentations听
On our final day of design thinking each team gave a presentation of the question they wanted to solve as well as their solution.
Group A | H2NOLA
