December 2020 Four Day Work Week FAQs

Staff and supervisors, please follow this guidance in implementing the four-day work week in your areas. If you have additional questions, please contact Rachel Dirmann or Heather Blanchard, or call Human Resources at 504-864-7757.

All full-time and part-time staff.

Work with your manager to determine which day each week that you will take off. 聽Partnering with your manager to make this determination will ensure that your department has appropriate coverage for continuity of operations.

Please use code 125 - Excused Time with Pay.

Working with your manager, please select a day to take off that you are normally scheduled to work each week. 聽You will enter your normal scheduled hours for that day in EWS utilizing code 125, Excused Time with Pay.聽

In those specific circumstances that an employee can not be absent from work during this three week period due to the need to maintain continuity of operations, up to three days can be deferred to the end of the FY. Managers will need to approve the deferral of days for their employee. The deferred days will continue to be coded as 125 - Excused Time with Pay in EWS. 聽These days are not eligible to be paid out or rolled to the next fiscal year.
