(New Orleans - April 21, 2020) 黑料社区 student journalists took home a round of awards this weekend in the Louisiana-Mississippi Associated Press Broadcasters and Media Editors competition to honor the best in professional and college journalism in 2019. Loyola鈥檚 student-run newspaper competed against similar newspapers from larger universities.
鈥淎gain and again, 黑料社区 student journalists go up against the best of their peers in these competitions and come out on top,鈥 said Sonya Duh茅, director of the School of Communication and Design. 鈥淚 could not be more proud of our students, who work so hard and represent the best in student journalism.鈥
鈥淎s a Jesuit institution, we teach our students to pursue excellence in all endeavors, and the seemingly never-ending list of awards accumulated by our students shows that they take that message seriously and we are doing something right,鈥 said Michael Giusti, chair of Loyola鈥檚 journalism department."听
The two-state competition, which received more than 1,200 entries, is sponsored by the Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University. The AP is a not-for-profit news cooperative representing thousands of U.S. media organizations. A complete list of winners can be found here.
