Gain specialized skills and expand your professional opportunities with a post-master’s certificate (PMC) in nurse-midwifery at ºÚÁÏÉçÇø.

This program is ideal for advanced practice nurses with an MSN or DNP degree in a different specialization who are interested in nurse-midwifery. Graduates will be prepared to provide advanced level care to women and individuals across the lifespan.

Students in Loyola’s PMC program complete didactic coursework synchronously online, combined with at least 910 supervised clinical hours in direct patient care. In addition to the nurse-midwifery specialization, Loyola also offers a .Ìý

PMC – Nurse-Midwifery Curriculum

Loyola’s nurse-midwifery program director will complete a gap analysis with each applicant to develop an individualized plan of study for the PMC program. The total number of required credit hours will depend on the applicant’s previous academic experience. The program requires 910 supervised clinical hours.

Hybrid

Post-Master's Certificate, Nurse-Midwifery

The School of Nursing offers a 32-50 credit, hybrid Post-Master’s Certificate: Nurse-MidwiferyÌýfor nurses with a master’s degree who wish to obtain certification to provide obstetrical and primary care to women throughout the lifespan.ÌýÌýCourse delivery includes in-person and online asynchronous teaching methods.

Applicants will have an individual gap analysis completed by the Nurse-Midwifery Program Director to develop an individualized plan of study. The actual total credit hours assigned to the plan of study will be dependent upon previously completed coursework. The minimum number of credits to be completed at Loyola is 32. Students must complete all didactic and clinical requirements for the population focus, including a minimum of 910 supervised hours in direct patient care. Practicum experiences are completed with preceptors in practice settings located in the geographic areas in which the student resides.Ìý
